Screen burn in occurs when an image is left too long on a screen, resulting in a ghost of that image “burned in”. Newer plasmas are less susceptible to this thanks to improved technology and features such as screen savers, but burn-in can still be a problem. However, after a few days most burnt-in images will fade – they are no longer permanent.
For average user Plasma TV burn-in is not an issue. Most plasma TVs will probably never have a problem with image retention
If you worry about that. Here is how to prevent burn-in on your brand-new plasma TV screen
– Do not leave static images on your plasma TV screen for more than an hour
– Many plasma manufacturers have installed anti-burn settings, which are monotone gray or snow screen settings which recalibrate pixel intensity levels uniformly – thus eliminating any image retention (ghosting)
– Adjust the CONTRAST setting at or below 50% on your new plasma TV.
Choose reliable brand like Panasonic. It have minimized the risk of image retention. In addition, screen savers, pixel shifting, and brightness level adjustments can dramatically reduce any chance of image retention.
