I need help hooking up my surround sound to my new Plasma HDTV?

I just got a new 42” Phillips Plasma TV. I have a sony surround sound system that I would like to hook up to it. The plasma tv has a jack called SPDIF Output. The surround sound system requires a Left and Right audio input. The problem is that the tv only has that ONE jack for output and the surround sound system requires TWO. Without actually seeing your system, it would be hard to tell. However, if you have true surround sound, then your receiver should have a multitude of inputs. Anaglog (RCA jacks), HDMI, Optical, and Coax.
I’m also assuming that with an HDTV, you have cable or satellite. Try running the sound from your cable or satellite receiver directly to your audio receiver using one of the above methods. Optical audio is probably the best.
